Testimonials

I have been with Seb for the last 3 years.  Seb’s livery and service is simply the best.

Seb has a unique bond with horses, he looks after each horse individually catering to their needs as required whilst taking into consideration the client too.  Seb has a wealth of knowledge and experience which provides a stable and consistent environment for the horses, that ensures the client  gets the best from their horse.

I know my horse is well looked after and cared for 24 hours a day by Seb.”

I cannot recommend Seb highly enough as a calm, collected and intelligent instructor who has always been reliable, patient, forgiving and motivational for me throughout my equestrian career.

I started riding six years ago and after 1.5 years in the saddle met Seb at the equestrian centre/ riding school where I was riding.

Under Seb’s watchful eye as my instructor and through his lessons I rapidly improved my riding to the point where I was able to acquire my own horse and start hacking out alone, showjumping, hunting and completing cross country events.

I have remained with Seb as my instructor and mentor for the past 4 years – recently moving from Norwood Farm to the fabulous new equestrian complex at West Weylands Farm.

Today, I continue to have at least one lesson a week and sometimes two with Seb, which has culminated in last weekends 5th place at a recent Senior British Novice 90cm showjumping competition.”

After being out of the saddle for over ten years, I embarked on finding myself a show jumper and a trainer, when I came across Sebastien Poirier back in August 2011.

Sebastien is very welcoming, has lovely grooms and beautiful impeccable stables, giving the home from home environment.

I have found him to be incredibly patient, an effective trainer and teacher as well. Not only did he give me my confidence back but also during that time he trained my young horse and together under his teaching we have become a team and often return with rosettes.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have Sebastien work with both my horse and me. He is always straightforward, honest and generous with his time and attention. I have high regard for Sebastien both as an individual and professional and highly recommend him to horse and rider who would like to reach their full potential.”

“Twister and I have been training with Seb for the past three years and during this time, my riding has changed beyond recognition. He has worked with me to improve my position and flatwork which in turn has given me a solid foundation from which to progress with my show jumping.

Since I met Seb, I have advanced from struggling to jump round a British Novice to competing in Foxhunter classes, something which previously I would never have believed possible. Twister is not the easiest of horses but Seb has a great empathy with him and has always shown endless patience, encouragement and support. I can’t thank him enough for all his help.”

“Sebastien has an instinctive understanding of horses and is a natural at communicating his knowledge to both rider and horse to get the best out of both.”

“I was having problems with my 17’1” Dutch Warmblood when we were showjumping. A friend recommended Seb to me. So I went along for a lesson, it was so helpful and nearly 2 years on and I still go!

I have learnt so much in this time. My position is totally different, my relationship with my horse is much better, I have learnt to really let him stretch before doing anything and I now realise how important flatwork is before we start jumping.

Seb is a great teacher whose lessons are never dull or boring. In the lessons he always comes up with something new to try or do so they are really enjoyable and fun. Also, he explains clearly what and why you need to do things and he keeps me on my toes by asking me lots of questions about what was good/not so good when I have done a course of jumps. I always come away from my lesson wanting to practice what I have learnt.

Since having regular lessons I have built up a much better relationship with my horse and this winter hope to do some 1.15 – 1.20 classes and I know I would not have been able to do this without Seb’s help, guidance and patience over the last couple of years.”
